Kenya unveils a virtual safari tour program to boost the tourism sector

1 Mins read

On Tuesday, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife in Kenya, Najib Balala, unveiled a virtual safari tour program aimed at bringing Kenya’s prime tourist attractions to Kenyans and the world.

The virtual safari tour program is a six-week expedition across the country aimed at ensuring that the world and travellers remain connected to destination Kenya even during the current COVID-19 lockdown period when there is restricted movement.

“Our international tourism business is completely cut off and we have to still share destination memories with travellers and that is why we are unveiling a virtual tour safari to connect visitors with the destination,”

said the cabinet secretary, Najib Balala.

He further added that the COVID-19 pandemic has taught players in different sectors to be more innovative to keep their businesses afloat during these difficult moments. Najib also noted that the virtual tour in some of the parks and reserves across the country is aimed to ensure that Kenya remains top of mind among visitors and investors alike.

The virtual tour program will be part of the ongoing #TheMagicAwaits tourism campaign and to catch the daily Live Stream, follow or visit the #MagicalKenya hashtag on the Ministry of Tourism & Wildlife’s various social media platforms.
